I'm a bit of a reading fiend and just can't seem to get enough of reading. Sometimes though I like going on the adventures I create in my head...so I thought...well why not try writing down what I see and perhaps you might enjoy the ride too

REVIEW - Dragon Justice by Laura Anne Gilman

What a brilliant author and story.  The writing style drew me in from the start and I found myself immediately caught up in the story.

I can't believe I haven't read anything by Laura Anne Gilman prior to this book.  Despite the fact I've read so many books in this genre, the author has the talent to make the story fresh and new.

There are a number of other books in this series and an earlier related series.  I've not (yet) read them; however, I didn't have any trouble following the story.  Mind you, I plan go out and acquire the books I've missed at once!

**SPOILER**

My only niggle is a fairly major character is killed very suddenly and that seems rushed.  It just happens and everyone seems to be able to go back immediately to what they need to do without any emotional scenes...it was just a bit too easy for the characters. More was alluded to, I would have just liked to have seen some of this reaction.

Taking the plunge and anticipating the adventures ahead

Well - isn't this special... Just putting my toes into the blogging ocean and looking forward to see where this exploration takes me.

So - what am I focusing on?

I've signed up for a writing course and am flying across to Los Angeles to start the journey down the writing road.  This beginning workshop takes place just before the RT Convention at the beginning of April - can't wait to meet Judi McCoy.  Of course, immediately on the heels of this will be the RT Convention itself and all the related workshops!

I'm already on the lookout for a writing group near me.

There's a huge number of books I'm looking forward to getting my hands on.  I read so many different series by an incredible mix of talented authors and their respective series continue with one or two additional offerings as the year goes on.  I know when I start listing names I'll sooooo leave someone out (apologies in advance).  Nonetheless, some of the authors whose work I'm eagerly anticipating include:  Kelley Armstrong, Keri Arthur, Jenna Black, Patricia Briggs, Casey Daniels, Jocelynn Drake, Jeaniene Frost, Yasmine Galenorn, Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, Caitlin Kittredge, Helen Lowe, Suzanne McLeod, Kelly Meding, Devon Monk, Chloe Neill, JR Ward

I'm also eager to discover the new talented authors who are making their debut this year (Darynda Jones is just one!)
